THE VIRTUAL WELLSPRING OF READINESS LINKS:

I've made a point of avoiding sites that had agendas other than preparedness, especially racist or anti-government types. After all, this is a pro-Constitutional site, and the Constitution is the definition of American government. Also, I tried to avoid complicated or commercial sites that weren't a good use of your time to look at.

HERE'S THE LINKS:

- AMERICAN PREPPERS NETWORK - Freedom through teaching others self-reliance
- BRUCE BEACH'S SITE - Former Radiological Officer- knows his business.
- FRONTSIGHT - Premiere firearms training school
- CAPTAIN DAVE'S - More info than you can shake a stick at, current and classic
- SURVIVAL TOPICS - Survival of the wilderness persuasion, some good winter info
- SURVIVAL BLOG - Former U.S. Army Intelligence officer, technical writer, retreat consultant
- EQUIPPED TO SURVIVE - Focus on short-term disaster survival
- NATURAL DISASTER RECOVERY - A Popular Mechanics site with some great articles
- NITRO-PAK - Beaucoup readiness supplies! Over 50,000 instock! Skookum gear.
- MAJOR SURPLUS & SURVIVAL - Military, outdoor, survival, and tactical gear.
- WILDWOOD SURVIVAL - To think with the 'wilderness mind'
- ARCTIC FIRE AND SAFETY - Great source for first aid and medical gear in the Fairbanks area

If it hits the there won't be too many places that will go on as usual. Most people are not self sufficient and depend on the supermarket to get their food.
What many don't realize is when things break down then everything breaks down. Transportation, if there is any, won't be delivering anything to most areas.
People forget that it only takes one service to break down that will effect almost everything else to different extents. If fuel is cut off then all transportation stops, no food, no heat, no supplies, everything we use just stops coming. And it doesn't have to be fuel that starts it, it can be almost
anything that supplies others to keep their businesses or services running. Everything is related to something else to run properly.

No matter where you are, each area has it drawbacks. We have to prepare for the area we live in. I live in North NJ, the shelves would go bare in two days. There is no place to live off the land here, the weather is also not made for growing your own food, I have very little property for growing anything and a greenhouse is definitely out. I either have to live as long as I can with my stocked supplies and probably have to defend it. Or I can take off to a low population area with supplies, but where would I go and be able to live with no guarantee of shelter except for a tent? And I also have my wife and two pets to worry about with all the above.

Actually, I've been to Alaska and I'd consider it one of the best and safest places to be if the sh__ hit the fan.
